With its WiNG 5 intelligence, the AP 6522 can also serve as a virtual controller and coordinate the operation of up to 24 neighboring access points. It connects to other access points in a mesh topology to enable the extension of wireless network coverage to areas where Ethernet cabling is cost prohibitive or otherwise impractical.
